He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse C. Smith and Laura E. Smith (McCullough); his wife Donna Mae Polka; and his brother Robert. He is survived by: his children, Deb West (Bob) of Ames, Becky Reger (John) of Ames, John Smith (LeighAnn) of Katy, Tom Smith (Karen) of Tulsa and Beth Essary (Dallas) of Stillwell, Oklahoma.; his brothers, Roger Smith (Betty) of Toledo, IA. and Arnold; and his sister-in-law Betty Chantland of Ames.
