He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Kenneth McMurrian and Josephine McMurrian (Batt); his grandparents, Sallie Scott Batt, Daylight Batt, Hortense Moon McMurrian and Ruben McMurrian; his stepdaughter Lauryn Daisy Guthrie; his daughter Sallie McMurrian; his stepdaughters, Chayne Fortner and Nikki; his stepson-in-law Robbie; his stepgrandson Edin; and his sisters, Sharon Collins (Carl), Neta McMurrian and Trina Jackson (Jeff). He was also cherished by 2 step grandchildren and 3 step great grandchildren.
