She was predeceased by: her sisters, Reba Chewey and Kathy Scraper (Chewey). She is survived by: her daughters, Sonja Sanders (Micky) of Muskogee, OK and Thea Sevenstar of Tulsa, OK; her grandchildren, Shylah Sanders, Marissa Sanders (Sampson), Kyle (Maddie Sanders), Logan Sanders (Calesa), Terrence Sevenstar, Thessa Sevenstar (Josh) and Talyn Sevenstar; and her brother Mitchell Chewey of Oaks, OK. She is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren.
In 2021, amid the pandemic, Irene would make a decision to move her membership to Calvary Indian Baptist Church, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
