It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elizabeth Townsend (Stillwater, Oklahoma), born in Fort Worth, Texas, who passed away on June 24, 2024, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Elizabeth may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.

She was loved and cherished by many people including : her parents, William Theodore (Bill) and Georgia Grace Burtschi; her husband Bud Townsend; her son Will; her daughter-in-law Erica Townsend; and her grandchildren, Alex and Eddie Townsend.

Visitation was held on Thursday, June 27th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Strode Funeral Home Chapel (610 S Duncan St, Stillwater, OK 74074). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, June 28th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church (711 N Country Club Rd, Stillwater, OK 74075).

In Betty's memory, donations may be made to the OSU Friends of Music, 102 Greenwood School of Music, Stillwater, OK 74078 where a special fund has been established for the funding of a memorial scholarship.
