Dixon Lewis Jr. Obituary
Loving father, uncle and friend, passed away on June 25, 2019, at the age of 77. Dixon was born on December 7, 1941, in Talihina, Oklahoma to Dixon and Eunice (Hepsin) Lewis, Sr. He received his Associates Degree in Printing Technology at Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology. He had worked at Tulsa University as a printer.
He had worked as a Haskell County Sheriff Deputy. Then he worked for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation until he retired. He also owned and worked at his Print shop during that time as well. After retiring, he worked with the Choctaw Nation as a Choctaw Community Teacher. He was a long-time preacher at high Hill, then Bethel, and finally at New Hope Indian Baptist Church at Keota, Oklahoma.
Dixon was preceded in death by his father, Dixon Lewis, Sr.; his mother, Eunice (Hepsin) Lewis; two sisters, Matilda Lewis McFarland and Lela Lewis; and four brothers, Melton Lewis, Glen Anderson, Donald Anderson, and John Lewis. He is survived by his daughter, Michele Storment; his two grandchildren, Tobey and Sarah Storment of Stigler; his sisters, Geraldine Isabell of Wilburton, Oklahoma, and Barbara Lewis Wagner of Edmond, Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 29, 2019, at Mallory Chapel in Stigler Oklahoma with Gary Boston, officiating; Olen Williams offering the Eulogy; and Stanley Shomo speaking about special memories of Dixon's life. Interment will follow at Simon Isaac Cemetery in Keota, Oklahoma, under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory of Stigler, Oklahoma.
