She was predeceased by: her parents, Ettie Akins (Duncan) and Virgil Akins; her brothers, Thurman Akins, Raymond Akins, Carl Akins, Hershel Akins and Doyle Akins; her daughter Cathy Boyd; and her grandson Jason McMurray.
She is survived by: her husband Joe Dees of Tucker; her sons, Larry Turner (Cheryl) of Greenwood, Darryl Dees (Tamie) of Muldrow and John Dees (Jennifer) of Keota; and her sister Ila Underwood of Panama.
