He was predeceased by: his parents, Thelma Lee Young (Gossett) and Ervin Donald Young; his wife Betty Young; his brother James Young; and his son Donnie Young.

He is survived by: his children, Tonja Cristee (Mike) and Charles Tipton; his granddaughters, April and Angela; his great grandchildren, Jeni, Breeanna and Chloe; and his sisters, Pat Berkenmiere, Alice Masterson and Diane Phillips.
