She was predeceased by: her parents, Roger Clifford Hinton and Vera Hinton; and her siblings, Oleta, Imadale, Charlene and Clifford Hinton.

She is survived by: her husband Lawrence; her sons, Larry Chavis (Leslie) and Jeremy Chavis (Terry); her grandsons, Justin Chavis, Brandon Chavis, James Chavis, Matthew Chavis, Aaron Chavis and Zachary Chavis; and her siblings, Ruth Higgins and David Hinton. She is also survived by Nine great grandchildren.
