It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Annabelle Whalen-Downum of Spavinaw, Oklahoma, born in Salina, Oklahoma, who passed away on February 2, 2022, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Lige Cagle and Ethel Cagle; her former husband Raymond Whalen of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; her husband Robert Downum (Bob); and her sister Isabelle Cagle Cox.
She is survived by: her children, Sandi Collins (Kenneth), Mike Whalen (Myrlene) of Salina, Marsha Whalen Downum (Daniel) of Locust Grove and Preston Whalen of Rural Salina; her grandchildren, Rhonda Salyers, Kimberly Alberty, Rodney Coger, Michealle Johnson, Malissa Pierce, Scarlette Lococo and Daniel Whalen; and her siblings, Jane Edens, Paul Cagle, Ethelene Fortner and Linda Carnes. She is also survived by nineteen great grandchildren and sixteen great-great grandchildren.
She also served several years as a board member of the Northeast Oklahoma Electric Round-Up Foundation.
