With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Tawana Sue Atkinson of Snyder, Oklahoma, born in Detroit, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 30, 2025 at the age of 70. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Tawana Sue may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Tawana Sue touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She is survived by: her spouse Hurchell L. Atkinson; and her children, Dean Joseph, Charles Shon Atkinson, Dana Yvonne and Lavonda Lorrianne Atkinson. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
Viewing was held on Monday, April 7th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home of Snyder (622 E St, Snyder, OK 73566). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Snyder, Oklahoma (923 E St, Snyder, OK 73566).
