He was predeceased by: his parents, James Michael Fitzanko and Wilma Hagemeier (Smith); and his brother Larry Fitzanko. He is survived by: his wife Elke Fitzanko; his stepdaughter Sandra Winkler (Chris) of Germany; his grandchildren, Jessica, Vanessa, Andy and Micheal of Germany; his siblings, Steven Fitzanko (Coleen) of Pekin, Illinois and Anna Mansch of Shawnee, Oklahoma; his sister-in-law Charlotte Fitzanko of Galesburg, Illinois; and his close friend Sarah Coughenour of Manitou, Oklahoma..
A graveside service was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Fort Sill National Cemetery (2648 NE Jake Dunn Rd, Elgin, OK 73538).
