He was predeceased by: his mother JoAnn Marie Stubbings (Canfield); and his mother-in-law Majel Shepherd. He is survived by: his wife Joey Jean Waid; his children, David Allen Stubbings (Adrienne) and Paden Stubbings (Kelsy); his father Wayne Stubbings; his sisters, Cara Sien (Randy) and Lora Walker (Joe); his granddaughters, Lillie Stubbings and Scarlett Stubbings; his father-in-law Dennis Shepherd; and his siblings-in-law, Kamala Moon (David), Dee Waid and Reggie Shepherd (Shelby Fisher). He is also survived by other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family of David Stubbings has set up a memorial fund in his memory.
