He was predeceased by: his parents, Steven Vasquez and Lucy Vasquez; and his son-in-law Audie Eversole. He is survived by: his wife Betty Cortez Salazar; his children, Juanita Romo (Ed), Tina O'Malley (Jim), Dena Davis (Glen), Anna Eversole, Sammy Vasquez Jr. (Virginia) and Jimmy Vasquez; and his sister Rosemary Simmons. He is also survived by 6 step-children, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great- grandchildren, along with many other relatives and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 27th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home (44909 OK-3, Shawnee, OK 73853). A graveside service was held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Johnson Cemetery.
