He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ray McGuire and Lula McGuire; his wife Carol; his brothers-in-law, Ronnie, JD and Alva; his sister Jean Ann Cowgill of Eufaula, OK; his children, Koleen Paschal (Mike), Shawn McGuire (Enid) of Chandler, OK, Gretchen Sweeney-Groseta (Paul) of Cottonwood, Arizona, Jenny Kile (Jeff) of Philadelphia, PA and Ryan McGuire (Brittany) of Lincoln City, OR; his grandchildren, Tabitha, Terrah, Kirsten, Shelbi, Jake, Dylan, Grace, Peter, Abigayle and Trystin; his great grandchildren, Mikaylee, Ally, Caden, Krissy, Maggie, McPherson, Mia and Cason; and his nephew Justin Walters (Cassie) of Charlotte Hall, MD. He was also cherished by cousins and friends.

He received numerous awards, certifications and recognitions for his work and contributions to the trade in vocational education of local communities.
