She was predeceased by: her parents, Charley Decatur Stout and Bertha Ferguson Stout; her husband Rev. Lester Patterson; her daughter Dot Davis (Dorothy); and her sons-in-law, Magno Ortega, Jim Davis, Darl Henderson, James Goforth, Sr. and Ralph Greer.

She is survived by: her significant other Sallateeska; her children, Mary Helen Ortega of Napa, California, Pat Henderson of Miami, Florida, Virginia Goforth of Rusk, Texas, Carol Greer of Hodgenville, KY, Rev. John Patterson (Gail) of Florence, MS, Sarah Anders (Mickey) of Lexington, KY and Marti Johnson (Jay) of Santa Fe, NM; her grandchildren, Vanessa Mauricio (Nilo), John Paul Ortega, Duane Henderson (Denise), Sally Mesa (Victor), Tamara Robinson (Rick), Jim Goforth (Lisa), Tom Goforth (Regina), Tasha Risner (Daniel), Robert Greer (Karla), Amy Patterson, Andy Anders (Crystal) and Will Anders; and her family Helen. She is also survived by 18 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren, and others who called her Mother, Grandma.
