He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira B. Fruits and Ruby V. Fruits (Reeder). He is survived by: his wife Pattie; his daughters, Deborah Liles (Dale) of Shawnee, OK, Terrie Easton (David) of South Burlington, VT and Connie Brandhorst (Larry) of Dupo, IL; and his brother Willard Fruits of Chicago, IL. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
