He was predeceased by: his parents, Mace Butler and Doshie Butler (Darneal); and his wife Alma Butler. He is survived by: his children, Alan Butler (Rochelle) of Panama and La Dena Gullick (Hal) of Shady Point; his grandchildren, Ronni Plank (Randall), Cody Butler, Hal Gullick (Nancy) and Mindi Lee Gullick; his great grandchildren, Ethan Tolleson and Ryan Tolleson; and his siblings, Pete Butler (Nancy) of Spiro, Ken Butler (Carolyn) of Shady Point, Betty Christenberry (Eugene) of Cameron and Joyce Dilts (Don) of Wyoming. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many beloved friends.
