He was predeceased by: his mother Jimmie Johnston; his stepfather O. W. Johnston; his father Gene Worrell; and his stepmother Bobbie Worrell. He is survived by: his wife Joni Worrell of Seminole; his son Richard; his daughter-in-law April Diggs of Naples, Texas; his sister Amy Main of San Antonio, Texas; and his grandsons, A. J., Preston, Colton and Jack. He is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
