He was predeceased by: his parents, Gladys Douglas Barnes and Hute Barnes; his grandson Trey Tigner; and his siblings, Margaret Sykore, Georgia Welborn, Gearldine Barnes, Elaine Jeffcoat, Eleanor Hammons, Donald Barnes, Edd Barnes, Leroy Barnes and Johnny Barnes.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Mason Novotny Barnes; his daughters, Shanna Tigne (Kenny) and Tamie Barnes Cross (Tony); his stepchildren, Brenda D'elia, Kellie Novotny and Jimmy Novotny Jr.; his grandchildren, Kaleigh and Ryan; his stepgrandchildren, Trey D'elia, Zack Wood and Jacob McAfee; his brothers, Darrell Barnes and Kenneth Barnes (Carol); and his sisters-in-law, Susie Barnes and Retha Barnes. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
