He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Paul Nelson and Thelma Nelson (Page); his wife Norma Nelson (Pat Nelson); his children, Michael Nelson (Tina) of Chester, OK and Michelle Pembrook (Billy) of Longdale, OK; his stepchildren, Marsha Elliott (Joe) of Seiling, J. R, Clark (Michelle) of Seiling and Kim Elliott of Seiling; and his siblings, Pelie Parker (Shorty) of Lucedale, MS, Buck Nelson (Cathy) of Lyman, MS and Shannon Nelson (Deidre) of Poplarville, MS. He was also cherished by 21 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
