He was predeceased by: his parents, John F. Stephens Sr. and Ina A. Stephens; his mother-in-law Mary Metrailer Gwatney; his sisters, Glenda Horton and Patty Parker; and his brother-in-law Coy Ward.
He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Stephens; his children, Belinda Ann Spears (Donnie), T. Blake Stephens (Kathy) and Sherri Lee; his grandchildren, Sarah Daniels (Brandon), Neil Lee, Joshua Stephens (Jewely), Kyle Lee (Lindsay), Kassie Prather (Riley), Jared Warren (Rachel), Taylor and Bailey Spears; his great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Annie, Pippa, Emilia and Wesley; his siblings, Joe Stephens (Kathy) and Joy Ward; and his brothers-in-law, Eldon Horton and Gene Parker.
