He was predeceased by: his parents, Claudius Curtis Tyner and Dora Mae Herrera (Dirt); his son Daniel Ray Tyner, Jr.; his grandson Christopher James Smith; his siblings, Robert Wayne Tyner and Arlene Herrera; his uncle Ralph B. Davis; his aunt Wanda Kanes; and his grandparents, Wilber, Emily Dirt (LittleBear), William and Sadie Tyner (Rhodes).
He is survived by: his close friend Terri Keith; his daughters, Dannette Freudenberg (Ray), Tonia Tyner and Daniele Dennison; his grandchildren, Amanda Homer, Michael Homer, Jami Freudenberg, Lindsey Nicole and Bradley Hicks; his brother Manuel Herrera (Frankie); and his nephews, Bob and Michael Herrera. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
