With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Phyllis (Sasnett) Duty in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, who passed away on February 3, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Phyllis departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Phyllis. Though Phyllis may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Yuther Irene Sasnett (Duke) and James Edgar Sasnett; her granddaughter Tori Mills; and her siblings, Connie Cochran and James "Damon" Sasnett.
She is survived by: her husband Cecil Duty; her children, Carla Howard (Bryan) and Christopher Duty of Akins, Oklahoma; and her sister Darlene Duncan (Craig). She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Viewing was held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Agent & Mallory Martin Funeral Home (123 S Wheeler Ave, Sallisaw, OK 74955). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Faith Assembly of God (1140 E Fullbright Rd, Sallisaw, OK 74955). A burial was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at the Akins Cemetery.
