He was predeceased by: his parents, Ethel Lee Strickland (Stallings) and Patrick Royal Strickland. He is survived by: his children, Donnie Lee Stickland, II (Raudy Maxwell) of Perryville, AR and Darby Duncan (Kirksy Nixon) of Cameron, OK; his grandchildren, Kylee Strickland, Kolton Wann and Kruz Nixon; and his brothers, Ronnie Leland Strickland of Selma, N. C. and George David Strickland of Benson, N. C..
