He was predeceased by: his parents, Hubert Curtis and Eula Mae Mays (Smith); and his brothers, J. B. Mays and Arthur "Fuzz" Mays. He is survived by: his wife Linda; his daughter Dawn Mays Newton; his granddaughter Reagan Elizabeth Newton; and his sister Gwen Brown. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
