He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Hays and Madelyn Hays; his sister Patty Baker; and his nephew Walter Maxton. He is survived by: his wife Ria Joi Hays; his children, John Richard Hays, Teri Lyn (Hays), Charles Smith, Kelli Joi (Hays) and Justin Becker; his grandchildren, Sarah Brown, Clay Smith, Trevor Hays, Abigail Koster, Elisabeth Hays, Brayedon Jordan, Alyssa Jordan, Kristian Jordan, Ryan Jordan and Kaige Jordan; and his great grandchildren, Wrenley Koster and Baby Koster.
