He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl L. Holbird Sr. and Flossie Rae Holbird (Keith); his son Samuel Holbird; and his grandsons, Anthony Thornburg, Augustus Cash Holbird and Dustin "Dusty" Holbird.
He is survived by: his wife Faye Holbird; and his children, Carolyn Rigsby of Panola, Johnny L. Holbird (Drucella) of Red Oak and Stephanie Stacy (Tim) of Red Oak. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.
