He was predeceased by: his parents, Emmett Howell and Bessie Howell (Conley); his son Stephen; his sisters, Velda Ruzicki and Marva Phillips; and also Helen.
He is survived by: his children, Karen Owen (Gary) of Clinton, OK, Sandra Orth (Don) of Elk City, OK, Gary Howell (RuthAnn) of Arapaho and Tony Howell (Sandra) of Arapaho; his sister-in-law Betty Deutschendorf of Clinton, OK.; and his grandchildren, Kelly Burnett (Nate), Kevin Howell (Jeralynn), Jaime Knott, James "Slip" Knott (Liz), Jared Howell (Shelbie), Rachel Allen (Nicholas) and Hollie Calhoun (Garrett). He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
The family has suggested those wanting to give a memorial contribution may do so to the Putnam Senior Citizens or the Arapaho United Methodist Church.
