He is survived by: his wife Sharon Ackerman; his children, John Ackerman (Mary) of Owasso, Oklahoma and Sharon "Shari" Ackerman of Columbia, Missouri; his grandchildren, Donya ElShoubasi of Chicago, Ziad ElShoubasi of Columbia and Zane ElShoubasi of Columbia; his great grandchild Salim ElShoubasi of Columbia; his siblings, John Ackerman (Tonya), Mary Tipton, Frances Milliken and Catherine (Glen Pettus); and his siblings-in-law, Paula Pautsky and Harley Tillman. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and long-time friends.
