It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Layman Pierce Gattis of Poteau, Oklahoma, born in Lavaca, Arkansas, who passed away on February 26, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Guy Gattis and Velma Gattis (Benham). He is survived by: his wife Sharon Gattis (Sisco); his children, Lisa Gattis of Fort Smith, Loria Davis (Rob) of Lake Havasu, Arizona, Jenny Dixon of Poteau, David Gattis of Booneville, Christopher Smith (Melodie) of Coalinga and Michael Smith (Talia) of Henderson, Nevada; his brothers, Jim Gattis (Jenny Lou) of Charleston and Phillip Gattis of Inyokem, California; and also Curtis Boutte (Brandy) of Ridgecrest, California.. He is also survived by grandchildren; (7) great-grandchildren.
