He was predeceased by: his parents, Pat Johnston and Juanita Johnston (Mason); his daughter Maegan Jackie Johnston; and his sister Patsy Todd. He is survived by: his wife Donna Johnston of Poteau; his daughter Jerra; his grandchildren, Jack, Maddie and Jewel; his daughter Jeana Pollard; his son-in-law Matt; his grandchildren, Paley, Paven, Pacie, Praise, Paran and Pearly of Poteau, Oklahoma; his sister-in-law Jana Baker; his niece Jonna Decker; and his cousins, Mary Evelyn Ford and Johnny Johnston. He is also survived by several great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
