He is survived by: his wife Andrea Poindexter Skelton; his children, James Howard Skelton II (Sharyn), Laura Skelton Couey (Alex) and Julie Skelton Calderon (Memo); his grandchildren, Sarah Hays Skelton, James "Jake" Howard Skelton III, Sydney Noelle Skelton and Taura Elizabeth Ray; and his siblings, Sharon Skelton Gillett (Tom) and George Skelton (Twilla).
