She was loved and cherished by many people including: her children, Bill Newnam of Poteau, Susan Salmeron of Ypsilanti, MI, Shane, Shawn Hughes, Raun Williams, Jason Lee, Kelli Johnson, Mike and Missy Newnam; her husband Thomas Payne; her daughter Linda Williams; her parents, Pearl Brown and Jim Brown; and her siblings, J. R. Hilton, Sonny Brown and Inez Knight. She was also cherished by 12 great-grandchildren.
