He was predeceased by: his parents, Ezzell Thompson and Rebecca Thompson (Pound); his wife Leona Thompson; and his siblings, Elvada Collins, Doris Riley and Norman Thompson.
He is survived by: his children, Dwain Thompson of Porter, Deneice (Tito Martinez) and Debra (Carmine Perrotta); and his grandchildren, Michael (Trisha), Cara (Zack), Angela, Rebecca (Rey), Daniel, James, Amanda Lane, Ashley, Brad (Abbey) and Amanda Jane (Matt Carmen IV). He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.
