It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley James (Ponca City, Oklahoma), born in Manhattan, Kansas, who passed away on June 27, 2020, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles I. Johnston and Annabelle G. Johnston (Herren); her siblings, Joyce, Charlotte, Verna, Jimmy, Richard and Charles; her stepson Kenny; and her great grandchildren, Jaxon and Auston Rose.
She is survived by: her siblings, Carolyn and Tom; and her children, Donald Acker (Diana) of Newalla, OK, Denice Scott (Beau) of Newkirk, OK, Russell Olesen of Centerview, MO, Theresa Babers of Girard, KS, Charlotte Sheward (John) of Pittsburg, KS and Mike James of Girard, KS.. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and a host of long-time friends.
With the COVID-19, the family felt it prudent to offer two memorial services.
