He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Opitz and Nell Opitz (Edwards); his wife Ila Mae Opitz (Cadenhead); and his siblings, Elizabeth Lecthenberg, Ethelyn Robbins, Loretta Evans, Bill Opitz and John Opitz.
He is survived by: his children, Bonnie (Tom Troutt) of Paris, TX, James Opitz (Laura) of Weatherford, OK and Paula McKee (Ted) of Ponca City, OK. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
