We are sad to announce that on August 2, 2022, at the age of 100, Ray L. Hood of Pocola, Oklahoma, born in Panama, Oklahoma passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Cora Hood (Cummings) and Columbus G. Hood; his wife Pauline Hood; and his siblings, Ivie Smith, Aurbie Willingham, Lester Hood, Omer Hood, Jonnie Hood, Dulice Browder, Lorena Bayne and Jimmie Hood.

He is survived by: his nieces and nephews, Bryan Grober, Colton Grober, Caelum Grober, Lucas Johnson, Chasidy Johnson (Dillon), Kenzlie Newby and Stacy Grober; and his sister-in-law Pat Grober (Bill).

“I never met Ray, but I got to know him a bit through Aged Ministers Assistance in 2019. Our children's church started a program to bless older, retired ministers -- we took a special offering and the church matched it, and sent it as a gift to Ray. He wrote back the kindest letter. I wrote him and he responded and he told such a wonderful story of hearing hammering just over the hilltop -- his Father was building a place for him. I'd be happy to send family the letters: [email protected].”
