She was predeceased by: her parents, John Chisum and Laveda Viola Valentine; and her daughter Lavida Byrd. She is survived by: her husband John Gilbert Sherrill I; her children, Teresa Brown (Rodney) and John Gilbert Sherrill II; and her grandchildren, Arik Griffin, James Okonewski, Anthony Brown, Kristen Brown, Casey Allen, Emily Brown, Johnny Taylor, John G. Sherrill III, Edward Sherrill and Brenna Cecil. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
