He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter James "Jim" and Oneta "Fay" Stitz; and his brother-in-law Earl Barrett. He is survived by: his wife Debbie; his stepson Joshua Marshall Barrett (Crystal); his sisters, Beverly Mosman (Brad), Judy (Guy) and Brenda; and his mother-in-law Sherry Barrett. He is also survived by four nephews, five nieces, two grand-nephews, three grand-nieces.
