He was predeceased by: his parents, James Morris and Bessie Ann Mahaffey (Andrews); his children, Antoinette "Toni" Youngblood, Mary Danielle Mahaffey, Monte Livernois and Brent Livernois; his sister Linda Ann Graves; and his pet Tootsie Mahaffey.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Lou Mahaffey (Crockett); and his children, Keith Livernois (Marilu) of Katy, Texas, Rhonda Knight (Michael) of Jacksonville, Texas, James Mahaffey (Rebecca) of Woodville, Texas, Michael Mahaffey (Danyelle) of Missouri and Jason Mahaffey (Sirena) of Colmesneil, Texas. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
