With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sarah Anna Lee Pippenger (Pawnee, Oklahoma), born in Hardy, Arkansas, who passed away on August 11, 2023 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, John V. Hallum and Essie Hallum; her siblings, Lawrence Hallum, Lola Feaster, Hazel Skidgel, Elsie Skidgel, Jessie Robbins and Joy Minney; her children, Gwen Buttram and Albert Whitlow; her granddaughter Ami Whitlow Brown; and her son-in-law Gjon Payne.

She is survived by: her husband Lawrence "Larry" Pippenger; her sister Aredia Nixon (Rita); her children, Zane V. Whitlow (Cheryl Hill) and Molly Payne; and her grandchildren, Danny Buttram (Sherri), Leslie Buttram, Cheryl Davenport (John), Cheri Gibbs (Curtis), Chauna Utterback (Jon), Zane Whitlow II (Rhema), Kari Purdie (Rod), Zackri Whitlow (Brooke), Kyle Brown, Sara Payne Keyes (Jacob), Ian Payne (Chelsea) and Sean Payne. She is also survived by 21 great grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren and many beloved nieces, nephews, family and friends.
