He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Allen and Flora Bell Joyner; and his son Mel Joyner. He is survived by: his wife Kay Joyner; his daughter Jeniece Tate (Hal Jolly); and his grandchildren, Josh Joyner (Kayte), Jesse Joyner (Taryn), Cooper Tate (Derek Cohlmia) and Carter Tate (Katarina Kunz).
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to PV Animal Shelter in memory of Jimmy Joyner.
