It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bobby Gene Cates (Pauls Valley, Oklahoma), who passed away on February 23, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Cates and Mary Amber Riddle Cates (Smith); his brother John; his son David Cates, Sr.; his sister Josie Pearl Cates; and his half-siblings, William Franklin Riddle, Leroy Melton Riddle, Louis Ray Riddle and Mattie Mae Riddle Boggs.

He is survived by: his wife Janice Cates.
