Robert Jay Hooten Obituary
On August 9, 2024, The Lord Jesus Christ called his beloved and devoted soul, Robert Jay Hooten, born February 5, 1984 in Lockney, Tx. Robert was a dedicated Catholic who frequently attended the San Juan Basilica in San Juan, Tx. He graduated from South Harlingen South Hawks High School in 2003. After graduation, Robert served his country in the United States Navy for over eight years from 2003 to 2012. During his service in Florida, California, Spain, Japan, and Virginia, he was awarded the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal (2), Navy Corp Achievement Medal (2), Navy Corps Overseas Service Ribbon (6), and the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (6) aboard the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk and the U.S.S. Pelilu. He was a member of the VFW Post #577 in Owasso, OK. After completing his service, Robert drove trucks for Swift, La-Batt, and was awarded a Million Miles Safe Driving Award from Prime Trucking. Robert is preceded in death by his father, Robert Elijah Hooten.
