He was predeceased by: his parents, Lowell Scott Amber and Marie Eliza Amber (Barnes); and his stepsiblings, Paul (Marilyn) and Patricia. He is survived by: his children, Dennis Amber (Sherry), Janet Amber and Joy Boots (Susan Amber); his brother Jack Amber; and his stepbrother Jim Kirby (Rennie).
