He is survived by: his brother Gus; his children, Steve Thelander (Risi), Denise Kilgore (Doyle) and Teresa Atkinson (John); his grandchildren, Mindy, Christen, Christy, Michael, Jarrod and Anna; his sister Sharon Moody; his sister-in-law Jan Benge; his former wife Natalia Thelander; his stepdaughter Yasmin (Hai Phung); and his stepgrandchildren, Henry and Amelia. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
