It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Merlyn Loren Proffitt Jr. of Owasso, Oklahoma, who passed away on March 18, 2021, at the age of 60, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Merlyn Loren Proffitt, Sr. and Bobbie Jo Proffitt (Ball) of Owasso, OK; and his cousin Curtis Ray Kimble of Hydro, OK.. He is survived by: his wife Laura Faulk Proffitt (Edmond); his son Tanner Proffitt; his stepdaughters, Quincy Vest (Yukon) and Bailey Daugherty; his siblings, Nathan Proffitt (Jackie) and Jana Davis (Jenks); and his grandsons, Mason Proffitt, Hayden Proffitt, Connor Lazzara and Camden Vest. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, friends.

“I’m so sorry to hear my little buddy has gone to be with our God and savior. I’ll miss his silly little jokes he use to tell me. Mel was a kind hearted man , I know he love his family because we talked about them. And he loved his wife Laura a lot. I just wished I could gave my friend one more hug . I will miss him. One funny story downtown Edmond he want to wrestle, I said no stop he shoot a high crotch I counter and got the takedown. He said I got lucky and let go one more time. Love you Mel.”
