He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Frederick Cummings and Willie Mona Cummings (Johnson); his wife Sherry Elaine Barker; his siblings, Doris (Tom), Billy Fred, Ronald and Travis; his granddaughter Maddisun Elaine; his daughters, Tracy Henderson (Brandon), Landee Martin (Jason) and Crystal Cummings Carlson; his siblings, Kathy Driver (Bill), Sharon Risley (Jerry), Bob Cummings (Mandy) and Gary Cummings; and his sisters-in-law, Vera "Sissy" Wilson Cummings, Pam Cummings and Marie Cummings. He was also cherished by eight grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, and innumerable nieces, nephews, and cousins.
