He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Orender and Stella Orender; his wife Opal Faye Townsley; and his sister Barbara Vaught. He is survived by: his sister Patricia Dunham of Inola; and his sons, Rodney Alan Orender (Jeannie) of Claremore, Jeffrey Randall Orender (Nakita) and Calvin Wane Orender (Beth) of Inola.

He owned one of the first letter jackets given in Inola and donated it to the school.
