Bonnie Marie Nelson Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Bonnie Marie Nelson of Owasso, Oklahoma, who passed away peacefully at her home on December 30, 2021, at the age of 89, surrounded by her loved ones. Bonnie was a most beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She was known for her fashion sense and styled her hair and dressed impeccably everywhere she went. Bonnie loved the outdoors and could always be found enjoying a nice day sitting in her rocking chair on her porch or mowing on her riding lawn mower.
Bonnie adored her white Maltese dog, Jersey, who she had for almost 16 years, and took everywhere she could with her. Bonnie’s life was her family and she spent every day with them. She never missed a family event and loved receiving pictures and video chatting with her great grandchildren.
She is predeceased in death by her husband, Leonard Nelson, her parents, Elsie Mae Cross and Jesse Ellis Cross, her two sisters, Mildred Watson and Peggy Lawrence, and brother R.B. Cross.
She is survived by her children, Debbie Hopkins, of the home, and Mike Nelson (wife Shelia) of Edmond, OK.; her grandchildren, Brian Heavin (wife Kari) of Tulsa, OK., Ashley Parnian (husband Todd) of Tulsa, OK., Alisa Baird (husband Clint) of Tulsa, OK., Whitney Nail (husband Carson) of Edmond, OK., and Brett Hopkins (wife Allie) of Frisco, TX.; and her great grandchildren, Adam Heavin and Aubrey Heavin of Tulsa, OK., Parker Nail and Preston Nail of Edmond, OK., and Henry Hopkins and Lucy Hopkins of Frisco, TX.
Bonnie Marie was a special and one-of-a-kind woman and she is now most joyously reunited with her beloved husband Leonard after 34 years apart. Her memory will live on forever with her family and everyone who met her.
